Dear, Myself

Dear Liz,

First, I want you to know you are beautiful, just the way you have been and always will be. Your thighs that touch and make you say R.I.P to pants too soon, your big smile that makes your eyes disappear, dry skin, especially in the winter (thanks eczema), scars while on the topic of dry skin, the freckles on your lips and the slight sprinkle on your nose, the extra 'baby' fat that just won't go away. All those imperfections make you, YOU. Although it's been hard to see it growing up-wanting to look like your thin friends, thin girls in magazines, just striving to be thin-it's not what life is about, you finally realized. What life is really about: surrounding yourself with people you love and who love you back. Figuring out what makes you truly, truly happy. Soaking up the sun on beautiful days, laughing till you're crying and your abs hurt, enjoying waking up next to the man you love. Understanding you are a strong, feisty chick; and even if you're emotional and cry at everything, and you're stubborn and sometimes can't admit you're wrong, or you're still trying to figure out what the hell to do with your life professionally, or you're just learning how to make your finances work, or even though you're almost 30 you feel like you're still trying to get your shit together...YOU ARE STRONG, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, YOU ARE DESERVING AND YOU ARE A BADASS!!!!!

Girl power, all the way!

Happy International Women's Day!

Empower yourself, and those around you.
